The benefits of homeschooling are many and varied, some of which are the lack of bullying, positive socialisation and the ability to pursue career choices that would otherwise be unavailable to them.
My son is presently pursuing a career in web design, but whether he takes it up for a living is entirely up to him. At the moment it is what he is enjoying studying. Isn't that what homeschooling is all about?
We also enjoy the ability to study subjects that are interesting to us, and be able to chase "bunny trails" if we are inclined that way.
We enjoy being able to study using a wholly Christian curriculum, knowing that evolution will not be a part of it. My school years were spent in the public sector, and I feel that the teaching of evolution deprived me of a substantial education, and what I learned there, I have had to re-learn since.
I guess that the thing that I enjoy most about homeschooling is being able to see our children growing up and sharing precious moments with them - a gentle hug, a quiet word, the "I love you" during the day when they would otherwise be at school.
| But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33
